Help Us End Monthly Fundraisers
A new strategy to come in October

As most of you know, 88.1 The Promise is 90% funded by listener donations.  As a listener supported radio station, we are required by FCC regulations to raise our budget by asking our listeners for donations and we come to you once a month to raise our budget.  You can help us end this monthly appeal by becoming a monthly supporter.  We normally ask for one time gifts, but in October, when we raise our monthly budget - we will ask for monthly commitments so we don't have to come to you each month.  We know this has been a difficult few years for many and we are so thankful for your understanding and incredible support of the mission of 88.1 The Promise and The Promise House.

Please consider now about turning your one time gift into a monthly gift so we can more effectively reach our city with Gods message of hope!

Also, in October - we will begin posting our monthly checking account online as we want to be as transparent as possible.  In this day of secrecy and misspending of funds - we want you to see where your donated finances are used.

The Promise House at Alder Haven - Johannesburg!  The Alder Foundation have donated a home and we have begun loving abandoned babies!  His People Church of Johannesburg has committed to funding 25% of our monthly budget.  Our house mom is Katy Barker Kruger of Jacksonville, pictured next to me in the below photo.  She and her husband are living full time at The Promise House.
Thank you for your support as we continue to reach out to the most helpless with the loving arms of God!

Calvin's trip to Africa funded by safari travelers
www.ThePromiseHouse.org/safari.htm

We had an incredible trip to South Africa and to go on a photographic safari.  One of the ways we can raise money for our expensive trips to South Africa and for our projects is to bring travelers with us to see The Promise House first hand and to see the beauty of South Africa.  If your are interested in an incredible adventure that is 70% tax deductible, click on the above link.  If you know anyone that may be interested, please direct them to our web site.
While in South Africa, we also traveled to Nongoma - the heart of the Zulu Nation.  The Promise House is now in the planning stages of teaming up with The Queen Mantfombi Foundation, the Zulu Queen.  We plan on giving general supplies to the most needy people we have ever encountered.  We have a wonderful relationship with the Zulu Royal Family and will begin to provide chickens, goats, clothing, and supplies and toys to the local children.  This will be an incredible addition to the mission of The Promise House as we will have a small building on one of the Royal properties with a full time staff person.  Our safari adventures are in the same area as Nongoma and we don't want to just drive through the area without being a blessing to the local community.
While on this trip, we presented a check for $1,000 to Queen Mantfombi to start our vision.  The money was donated by our 88.1 The Promise business sponsor, The Jacksonville Christian Lawyer Directory.
