THE PLAYERS Championship, which combines the world’s best golfers, a superior golf course and unbeatable fan experience, is quickly approaching. This year among the many exciting events scheduled for tournament week is the celebration of the PGA TOUR Wives Association's 20th anniversary. Twenty years ago, wives of PGA TOUR players organized a charity golf tournament during the week of THE PLAYERS. The goal was to raise funds for the construction of a substance abuse center for teens in Jacksonville, now known as THE PLAYERS Championship Village. We were honored to have the support of then First Lady Nancy Reagan in what turned out to be a hugely successful event. Based on the substantial amount of money raised at the tournament, the women decided to capitalize on its success at other PGA TOUR venues. They created the PGA TOUR Wives Association as the vehicle to raise charitable dollars for nonprofits in the cities where their husbands would compete. At this year’s PLAYERS, we want to honor others who have proven to be "Champions" in their communities, organizations or who have shown the courage to overcome significant personal adversity. Please take the time to review the attached nomination form and select someone you would like to be considered. Twenty "Champions" will be chosen and each will be paired with a member of the PGA TOUR Wives Association. Your "Champion" and their guest will be invited to attend a celebration breakfast and receive a VIP tour during the tournament on Wednesday, May 7th 2008. Please contact Dir., Community Relations, THE PLAYERS Championship, Charlene Shirk with any questions or media inquiries regarding this celebration or nomination process. Thank you for your participation, Amy Wilson, President, PGA TOUR Wives Association, Inc.

Lunch $8.00 Businessmen's Fellowship, U.S.A. Ladies Welcome Meetings: 1st Wednesday Every Month  Wednesday, May 7, 2008 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 P.M.  Golden Corral Restaurant – 11470 San Jose Blvd – 1 ¼ Mi South of I-295 Jacksonville, Florida 32223 Featured Speaker ROBERT TOTMAN NY Air Traffic Controller on 9/11 Robert was working air traffic in New York on that infamous day of Sept 11, 2001! For 15 years Robert’s voice guided people to safety, even though he was addicted to alcohol and drugs. He lived for self glory and sin almost killed him.  He was suicidal and on the edge of divorce, and it was only the hand of Jesus that saved Robert, his wife, their marriage, and their family. By 2005 Robert sold their home, quit his job, and gave away all of their possessions to benefit the poor. Today, God still uses Robert’s voice as a guide. He’s discovered that those years as an air traffic controller were all part of his training to deliver God’s Word and guide people to the safety which can only be found in Jesus Christ. Invite all your friends! V. President: Bill Johnson 727-3870

The Core is a Christian based Rock, Dance, and Worship night driven by a team of young adults and youth pastors that want to provide an alternative to a typical Friday night. The June event rocked with Fighting Forward, a dance contest, a surf camp giveaway and Six Flags/Atlanta Fest giveaway, DJ remix and an awesome ending. The July 13th event is from 7:00 - 10:30 and is jam packed with 4 bands, new energizers, a light show, and all kinds of dancing. This month is all about 'Change' where we want to bring to Orange Park a Friday Night that is different from the norm. Talk with some of the teens that have been to The Core and see what they have to say about it. If your friends have not been then come check it out and bring them with you. We do have Food! Hot dogs, fries, and drinks available for purchase. Check out the link on our WEB site 'gotothecore.com' and click on the July Event to get more information and myspace links to the bands that are playing. The event is held at the Cypress Dance Hall at 797 Blanding Blvd in South Orange Park. We have added a late night event for 18-25 year olds from 11:00 - 1:00 as we feel they often get left out and we see a need to provide a place for them as a Christian alternative to the many choices young adults are attracted to. If your church has a Young Adult program send us information or bring some event Fliers and we will add them to our promo table.
